Zendlo Gets Bass-Heavy and Weird on “My Mind”

If you’re a fan of bass-heavy house and House of Hustle isn’t already on your radar, then you’d be wise to check them out. Today, we’re giving you the perfect chance. The label is about to drop its first-ever L.A. Hustle 2018 album, compiled by label heads Fantom Freq and Thomas Garcia. The 10-track package is described as a “mixture of groovy tech house stompers and bass-heavy bangers.” They fulfill that promise, especially on one of the cuts from Zendlo, called “My Mind.”

With appearances already on labels like Psycho Disco! and Strangelove, Zendlo’s offering here is a stomping cut full of bottom-heavy bass shakes and bleepy, wobbly weirdness. Its deep tech-house rumble ticks all the boxes in terms of bottom-end dancefloor function, yet it’s the tripped-out FX and vocal samples that deliver in terms of quirky personality—weird in all the right ways.
