Big things are brewing for OMNOM, the San Fran talent who has been making the rounds lately with some high-profile bookings. He recently appeared alongside some serious showstoppers at the This Ain’t Bristol takeover at Electric Forest and will also be dropping some of that bassline business at HARD Summer next month. His presence on these crushing lineups is proof the young house phenom’s unique twist on the booty-meets-tech-house sound has already impressed the house elite, and he is surely on his way to becoming a crowd favorite.
OMNOM is biting into some brand-new work next week with “Know I’m Bad,” which has already been getting the thumbs-up from house heavyweights Chris Lake and Claude VonStroke. Making max work of minimal elements, the track rides on a thumping kick and elastic bassline that provide some serious low-end weight. The booty-based groove carries a snarky vocal, providing the tune’s unabashed attitude. There’s also the dreamy synth work that creeps midway through at the three-minute mark, bringing a slight juxtaposition from the jackin’ beats, and creates the perfect transition into another round of ass-shaking funk in the second half of the tune.
