When Sharam Jey released “Roxcity” in 2003, it was an enormous hit. Its captivatingly shuffled percussions and lively, hypnotic lead made it an Ibiza anthem that’s still going strong today. So, it’s only fitting that King Kong Records is releasing a hot batch of remixes to get fresh takes on this gem.

While each artist in question goes there own way, Belgian powerhouse Ramon Tapia dives deep, while still carrying the soul of the original “Roxcity.” This stripped-down glacier of tech house glides through space like a warm summer night. Ramon keeps the shuffled rhythmic style of the original, which adds a funky demeanor to this otherwise chilled midnight tune. The captivating lead drops in long and high, sounding more like a bomb whistle for the dancefloor. All the while, a chunky bassline stabs away like granite wrapped in smooth velvet. Classic synth punctuations and flowing hisses of white noise keep the personality alive here, and joined with an extended, sweepingly dramatic breakdown, they polish this sweat-inducing warehouse of a remix to perfection.

Available August 21 via King Kong Records.
