Mladen Tomic Lurks in the Shadows on Dark Slammer “Miss You”

As one of the leading techno acts coming out of Bosnia, Mladen Tomic has been holding it down for his corner of the world with a host of high-caliber releases on landmark labels including SCI + TEC, Terminal M, Suara, and 1605. He’s about to tack another key imprint to his portfolio by making a debut appearance on Berlin’s My Favourite Freaks. Tomic turns in three hard-edged cuts for the occasion—as part of his forthcoming Hot Moog EP—and each one is ready to rip the floors right out from underneath discerning heads everywhere.

Opening up the three-tracker is “Miss You,” a dark slammer that lurks in the shadows like a creature of the night. Powered by a hard-driving rhythm, it relentlessly slices through the space, picking up loads of tension along the way. A sinister vocal shows itself in the break, only adding another layer of intensity to the growling groove.
