LEON Leans Into “Redemption” With Loads of Attitude

When the most lauded labels are knocking on your door, it’s pretty clear you’re doing something right. In Leftwing & Kody’s case, they’ve been approached by all manner of A-listers already, having scored signings on imprints like Hot Creations, Truesoul, VIVa and more. Mar-T’s Wow! Recordings is next in line to throw the prolific UK duo a deal, as they prepare to push out the four-track Wobble EP.

On “Redemption,” L&K create a tough, rolling tech-house number that gets a fair portion of its bite from the looped vocal sample the track swirls around. Italian producer LEON gets his hands on the cut and leans straight into it with tremendous amounts of attitude. His is a more stripped-back affair, but the low-slung groove and spasmodic stabs manage to add a great deal of appeal to the original tone.
