Although KEELD is an artist who seemingly appeared out of thin air, the real magic can be found in how the French producer treats house music as an omnidirectional vehicle headed god knows where. He keeps you guessing, that’s for sure. Even a tastemaker like Tchami was quick to subscribe to the upstart’s signature blend of bass house, bagging “Money” for the wildly successful Alchemy compilation back in January for his Confession imprint. Now, KEELD returns to the scene of the crime on Friday with his very own Killed EP.

“With this project, my aim was to make original house music with a lot of energy, groove, and some unique sounds that would attract all generations of fans and listeners,” he tells Insomniac.

And since originality is what he was after, it is safe to say he picked this one off perfectly. “In the Air” is as naughty as they come, with much of its appeal packed tightly into the intricate drum work, oscilating synthlines, and intermittent “woop”s and “hey”s that are peppered throughout. There’s also the matter of the hard-to-ignore vocal loop that instructs listeners to put their hands… well, you should know where by now.

Available October 27 via Confession.
