Projections is an ongoing DJ mix series dedicated to showcasing Discovery Project alumni who continue to push boundaries with their music.

BIGGS has a lot on his plate, but it never seems to get in the way of his living out the role of a modern-day superhero. Like most cutting-edge producers, he spends countless hours holed up in the studio, sampling the most random elements of everyday life so he can later transform them into slabs of bass for his mischievous productions.

How is this South Texas guardian of the subs going above the call of duty? BIGGS holds down an impressive release schedule—including collabs with the likes of 4B and consistent releases on Mad Decent—all while maintaining a full-time job. Well, technically two full-time jobs, if you factor in being a father and a dutiful husband. With it all laid out, you should understand why his hustle is indeed worthy of the respect he has been given by so many.

With his birthday coming up soon, he wanted to turn the tables and drop a special present on you by way of this dope mix. It’s the perfect example of why we pegged BIGGS as a DP winner in the first place. He lays on the bass thick and nasty, while burning through an amalgamation of sub-heavy favorites and window-rattling club weapons.

To top it all off, he included a message to go with the gift:

What’s up, dudes? Super stoked to share this mix with y’all, as it’s what a typical night with me would consist of. First off, I want to give a big thanks to my Discovery Project/Insomniac fam for letting me be a part of the Projections series. This past year with them has been amazing… the new people I’ve met traveling and playing in cities I could [never] imagine being in, compared to the little town I was born and raised in.

What I put together are some tracks from friends that I only know through Facebook messenger, that live thousands of miles away, and other peeps that just have some mad good creativity. It’s crazy how music brings people together, but it’s the coolest thing ever.”
