An American born of Kashmiri-Indian descent, KSHMR (as in Kashmir) was raised making periodic family trips to his father's homeland. Though, it wasn't until KSHMR began seeking inspiration for his own musical productions that he realized the significance of his upbringing. KSHMR reflects, "As I got older, I started to think about the people and what I saw in India more and more -- it's been hugely inspirational to starting KSHMR. Dance music is unique from pop in that it allows you to use stranger melodies and chords. Indian music does the same and it's incredibly exciting to me to find ways to bridge the two."
KSHMR exploded onto the scene with his first release, "Megalodon." Since then, his Beatport releases "Burn," "Secrets," "Karate," "Memories," "Heaven," "Strong" and "Bazaar" have all peaked at #1 overall and quickly garnered him a rapidly growing fan base. In 2016, KSHMR was awarded DJ Mag's prestigious accolade of Best New Live Act, climbed to number 12 on their Top 100 DJ list and graced the cover of the March issue.
KSHMR has continued his run of success into 2016 with a number of phenomenal singles such as "Touch" and "Wildcard" and massive performances at Coachella and EDC Las Vegas. KSHMR also recently released his long form debut, The Lion Across The Field EP, which served as the musical companion piece to a children's book by the same name written by KSHMR himself.
2017 will always be a monumental year for KSHMR, he took his incredible live show to the next level at Ultra Miami. Incorporating a mini orchestra, and mesmerizing Bollywood dancers, KSHMR brought to life his original productions and people are still talking about it!
KSHMR will continue to tour the globe this year and is set to release some exciting new music, including collaborations with Tiësto and Hardwell.
Firmly planted in the riches of house music history, but neatly poised to move forward into the future, Adam Auburn has dedicated his life to the music he loves. The buzz probably all began for Adam in 2004, after winning the first ever Traxsource DJ Competition, sparking a whirlwind of international attention for the East Coast native. In 2008, the ginger-bearded house music advocate moved to Los Angeles, where he was blessed to be discovered by Insomniac, placed on display at their weekly events at Exchange, and ultimately the mainstage at Nocturnal Wonderland, Escape From Wonderland, and EDC Week Las Vegas. Auburn’s unique versatility as a DJ has allowed him to play alongside a range of Artists as wide as his love for dance music—including everyone from Kaskade to Diplo, Knife Party, TJR, Oliver Heldens, Duke Dumont, John Digweed, Maceo Plex, Maya Jane Coles, the Martinez Brothers, Hot Since 82, Claude VonStroke, MK, Derrick Carter, Mark Farina, Louie Vega, and so many more across 15 years of DJing. Auburn's deep love of house music can be found not only in the infectious energy that resonates from his DJ performances, but also through the award-winning house music events his production company, Auburn Events, has put on for over 10 years—including Afternoon Delight (#2 Pool Party in the US—Thrillist 2015). In 2014, Adam began working as the Director of Marketing & Entertainment at Exchange LA, continuing to do whatever he can help push the music he loves forward into the future.
