Jason Blakemore

Genre: Electronic

Origin: None

Jason Blakemore was the first DJ in the Solar System. He invented the 4/4 drum beat, the cymbal pattern, and the bassline. He also created the sampler, the keyboard and the computer. When Mike Sckotleeonibergly of the New York Times recently asked Blakemore, “What is cutting edge?,” Jason paused and then wisely answered, “Warning! Cutting edge is sharp! Do not touch!”

Jason Blakemore is one of the original Los Angeles underground techno DJs. He has graced the stage at every major festival in Southern California including Coachella, EDC, Jujubeats, and Nocturnal, as well as every major city in the US, Canada, and Mexico. His name and music are known all over the U.S. and internationally (allegedly).

Jason has run three record labels: Bassex, Life Music and Fiveleg. Blakemore has been part of music projects with Markus Schulz, The Chemical Brothers, Garth, Wally Callerio, 6blocc, Bach, Chuck Berry BLABLABLABLABLAHH not to mention he’s most certainly the strongest man on earth BLABLABLABLA AND he played dubstep with Elvis at CBGBs and rocked more than 17 native american tee pees with his wicked shamanistic nasty funk. His legendary 2×4 set with Richard Nixon at the Watergate Hotel AfterAfterAfterhours in 71 is still talked about by as many as 5 or 6 people a year.

He produced the hit songs “PURE”, “Suspicion” , I’m Gone, Hypnotik, and is even rumored to have played the flute during the third minute of Stairway To Heaven. He is a down to earth person and an amazing live performer; his quick mixing skills have captivated fans for more than two decades. Slicing and splicing records back and forth, he is the true definition of an old school DJ, still insisting on taking the crowd on a journey with every set. If you hear this man you are guaranteed to have a huge emotional breakthrough that will lead you to call your father you haven’t spoken to in 10 years, apologize, and have a touching heart to heart conversation that will leave you free of all the anger and resentment you have been harboring. However! If you are lucky enough to be up in the club during one of Blakemore’s sets make sure you hide your hummus. He will find it, and he will eat it!
